Robyn's Story

Robyn Banks "THE BEAVER" Beverland's story is one of LOVE, FAITH, COURAGE, AND TRIUMPH.

Robyn was born March 5th, 1957 with a rare genetic disorder called "WOLFRAM SYNDROME".  This terrible disorder is little understood in the medical profession.  Robyn was totally blind in his right eye and only had 35% vision in his left eye.  He was deaf in his right ear.  He was a massive diabetic, had urinary problems, a lack of coordination, problems with swallowing, skin problems, and the slow degeneration of the pulmonary system.
His life expectancy, which he knew, was only to the age of 43.  BUT EVERY DAY WAS A GREAT DAY TO ROBYN.  AS FAR AS HE WAS CONCERNED HE HAD NO PROBLEMS.  Robyn loved life and wanted to do as much as he could to live it and to help others.  He never felt sorry for himself, nor did he drown in self pity.  He was too happy to feel sorry for himself, and he was too busy living to drown in self pity.

Robyn's artworks were his children, and through his artwork he wanted to make other people smile and be happy.
Robyn touched more people in his short 41 years then most could do in three life times.  God gave Robyn the courage to teach us all how to live, how to face life, and how to face death.  DO IT WITH DIGNITY, DO IT WITH LOVE, DO IT WITH HUMANITY, DO IT WITH HUMILITY, DO IT WITH FAITH IN GOD, AND DO IT WITH COURAGE.  Robyn's life was not always easy.  He and his parents had to climb a lot of mountains and overcome a lot of obstacles.
December 3rd, 1997, our world with our beloved wonderful son began to crumble.  For the next nine months our beautiful son was in ICU on a ventilator with a tube in his throat.  BUT NOT ONCE DID HE COMPLAIN OR LOSE FAITH IN GOD!  EVERY DAY WAS STILL PRECIOUS TO HIM.  Robyn still painted his little works of art.  He told us not to worry, he knew that he was dying, because HE WOULD BECOME AN ANGEL AND LOOK OVER US.  We asked him to paint us a sunset every now and then.  We held his hand as he took his last breath, and in slow motion, he turned into an angel.
